Highlight of the day: Worship service in French in the basilica
Geneva is actually a totally flat city. Nevertheless, I climbed a total of 90 meters in altitude and walked over 11 Km, despite it being a rest day.
I have never actually been to Geneva itself before. I have often driven by on the highway or been to the car show. However, that doesn't allow you to get to know a city. So I was happy that Kathrin and Egon gave me some tips. This way, I got to see some sights. But I'm sure there is much more to see.
When I wanted to visit the basilica, the worship service had just started. So I sat down and enjoyed the singing, the organ, and the wonderful voice of the pastor.
Then I went to the confluence of the Arve and Rhone rivers. Of course, I also found the only path here that was actually not a path at all, and I had to climb over a barrier to get out.
Compared to the basilica, I found the cathedral to be very simple and dark. However, the buildings themselves are very similar in structure.
Visiting the Wall of the Reformers was important to me. This structure is very impressive, and the carved figures are still very important for today's life as well. Where would we be if we still had to believe everything as the church of that time dictated?
I concluded my trip through Geneva with a short walk through the old town and took the tram back to my Airbnb.
