In the morning at the train station there was a surprise: The train is on strike 😤, all over Sri Lanka. So we need a bus. Everything is done quickly. Ticket is refunded. Tuk-tuk driver drops us off somewhere and says the bus will be here in 10 minutes. We pay 400 rp = €2 and wait patiently. The bus actually arrives, we pay 300 rp per person for a journey of 200km. We have 6 hours of travel ahead of us, back to Colombo, then transfer again to Negombo for the last night.
We are packed like sardines. It is advisable to hold on to the handles with both hands, and maybe even support it with a foot, during the hellish ride down the mountains. The Sinhalese person sits down and falls asleep. Later, the bus was so full that no one else could fit in. People stood for 5 hours!
To make a long story short... we got off. Last day by the sea and it is mercilessly hot.
Both of us suddenly developed rashes, sun allergy? But we were only in the shade🤔. Maybe there is also a heat allergy, I'll google it right away.
Today we are going to the airport in the evening, off to the Maldives 🤗
