05/03/2020 from Baracoa to Playa Pesquero

Today we will travel the last long distance to almost reach our destination and we will drive to the Holguin province.

But before that, we will visit a church in Baracoa, where a cross is displayed, which Columbus is said to have left behind when he discovered and landed in the bay in 1492.

Our travel distance today is 270 km, of which about 60 km is bad road, which, upon closer inspection, is understood to be a dirt track. Washed out, with rough stones and potholes. You can't go more than 20 to 30 km/h, then there are sections with a new road and from the provincial border onwards, there is a good road network.

Already 2 days ago, when we arrived in Baracoa, the reception told us that our next hotel is not available and we have been rebooked. This is accompanied by a free upgrade to an all-inclusive resort. Our room in the large complex with several restaurants, bars and a large pool area is spacious and modern. Even upon our arrival, these people are already quite loud and funny. We settle in and join the hustle and bustle.

The clever AI has a large thermos mug and already starts filling it with Pina Colada regularly at the bar in the early morning. Blue standard towels claim the already occupied loungers. That's how we like it... or do we?
