The Kvarken Archipelago is located just before Vaasa in the Baltic Sea and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with the High Coast in Sweden (see post about Skuleskogen National Park) (which is right across and is essentially the same landscape). You can reach the islands via a large and truly beautiful bridge, which you can admire in the photos, and you are right in the middle of beautiful nature, fine beaches, and many glacial erratics (also in the water).
In addition to smaller hikes, including to lookout towers and past highland bison, we also went swimming and had the most beautiful parking spot you can imagine. Completely alone on a secluded beach, right by the water with the evening sun and the sound of the waves - if we were to create a ranking for parking spots in Finland, this would by far be the most beautiful one.
