Brrrr.. Daytona Beach sounds like beach and sun, but this morning it was more long pants and rain. Not very inviting. We might have wanted to dip our feet in the Atlantic in front of our hotel, but we refrained.
Instead, we looked for a shop, because Dad wanted to buy a baseball cap from the famous Bike Week here in Daytona and found one. Overall, Daytona Beach seemed a bit sleepy in the morning, so we headed towards the interstate and paid a visit to the Daytona International Speedway. This is where the famous 24 Hours of Daytona and the even bigger Daytona 500 of NASCAR take place. Holy ground for every motorsport fan. We skipped a guided tour for $19, mainly because of time constraints as we wanted to continue today.
We made a stopover in Jacksonville. Right on the river, Jacksonville Landing invited us for a little walk. it was still a bit chilly. Nevertheless, we like Jacksonville, where we once again notice the many bridges. Maybe we should send some city planners from Rostock here 😉
At the end of our tour today, we were in Savannah. One of the oldest cities in Georgia.
