Day 20 - The Solution of the Puzzle

Argitaratu: 23.11.2017

What's going on? Does nobody have an idea what yesterday's photo is about? Do you need more time? That was a HOMEWORK!

Javier and Osman have finished their homework for today. It wasn't overwhelming, but at least.

Well, what you can see in yesterday's photo are stylized trees, about 8 to 10 meters high. They are located all over Managua. They are illuminated at night. The photo shows the trees on the Malecón, the promenade along Lake Managua. They were placed at the request of the Vice President and spouse of President Daniel Ortega. It is said to have cost millions, not to mention the ongoing maintenance and electricity consumption. They are as misplaced in this ugly city, still heavily marked by the last earthquake in 1972, as I am in a nail salon.

Unfortunately, the Ortegas are not so interested in the welfare of the population. This is not my opinion, but that of many locals. The President is now planning to revolutionize the public school system by reducing daily classes from 5 to 2 hours. Evil tongues claim that he is only the puppet of his wife. Moreover, he is not a legally elected president, as the local constitution does not allow for a third term.

My roommate Elena is now in Costa Rica and there is a new "maid" occupying the room. Elena once mentioned that her room is not completely waterproof and she has to place cups when it rains. It rained for hours tonight. Somehow funny that nobody cares.

I took the photos on the way home. Just a few street scenes.

I'm ending here now, I'm going jogging with Silvana at 6 tomorrow morning.

Temperature bearable, cloudy, calm except for the fan.
