In the orientation course, we were introduced to the university, the campus, and some responsible people. Afterwards, we could already choose courses. As mentioned before, we are the first logistics students from FHWS at this university and unfortunately it is still not clear which subjects will be credited to us in Germany.
Our first course took place on Monday, but more about that later.
Because first, the weekend was ahead !!
On Friday, there was the first official student party. The party started at about 9 pm in our apartment. Gradually, more and more international students found their way to the party hotspot 'Apartment B17'. Alcohol flowed abundantly and hot Latino rhythms throbbed from the speakers. Highlight number one. The club afterwards finally finished us off before we stumbled home around 5 am.
Accordingly, Saturday morning was approached a bit quieter. Football highlights and King of Queens episodes were the highlights of the feelings. To get out of our hole, we luckily had our planned two-hour sauna session in the evening.
A typical Finnish sauna includes consuming alcohol while saunaing. Back
in the apartment, the acoustic guitar rang out after a short time and Luis played many classics. Since the sounds could be heard in half of the dormitory, our Russian neighbors and some other friends quickly joined us. In the end, about 17 people sat together and sang the chosen songs loudly. Highlight number two was achieved.
Sunday started similar to Saturday. Typical for this day, everything was slowed down a bit. Konstantin, our fourth roommate, arrived in the early evening
and we ended the weekend in a small group with some beers.
Monday! First real day of class! The first course 'Leading Individuals and Teams'! Destroyed from the weekend and already informed that the course probably
will not be credited to us, we sat silently in the small classroom.
The professor showered us with demands and work that would await us if we participated in the course. After 40 minutes, it was clear to us that there was only one right decision in this case. We left the room as quickly as possible.
The other courses, on the other hand, all sound doable and also meaningful so far. However, we still do not know how we will manage everything. We still need a
red thread for everyday life. Because whoever eats breakfast on a weekday at 4 PM has somehow lost control...
The next party did not take long to wait. Flo's birthday was on Tuesday and although everyone was actually against it, we ultimately decided to celebrate it properly on Monday. Long story short: It completely escalated again. As a birthday present, among other things, we were invited to Russian food at our neighbors. During the meal, Florian had to endure a few Russian birthday traditions. (Pay attention to the ears at the next meeting). After that, we all went to the lake to experience the sunset together. It was a magical moment when the sun dyed the sky in a bright yellow and fiery red and Luis entertained us with acoustic sounds.
Someone had the unnecessary idea of having a quiet wine session at home afterwards.
It naturally turned into a second birthday party for Flo. At 1 am, Luis was in our kitchen mixing Whiskey Sour. The living area became a salsa dance floor, where we could learn the first steps.
A break is now necessary. Problem: Flo's official birthday party is on Friday. It could be the biggest party yet...
