Ladies Camper Weekend, 9-11 August 2019

The journey with an unknown destination in Höri started on Friday afternoon. We drove back to Büli and made our first stop at Eschenmosen. Claudia's homemade raspberry ice cream couldn't stay in the fridge for too long. So, we enjoyed our first coffee break with ice cream and brownies in the shade 😋. The perfect start to the Ladies Camper Weekend. 😝👍

After that, we continued our journey towards Lake Constance through Embrach, Pfungen, Neftenbach, Andelfingen, and Ossingen. We reached our destination for the day, Camping Hüttenberg, above Eschenz. We set up our campervans on the spacious pitches, and Moni set up her small tent in between. After exploring the area, we had an apéritif followed by delicious gnocchi with vegetables cooked by Claudia V. After washing the dishes, we sat together, chatting and later enjoyed a bottle of Porto that we had saved specifically for this weekend 😊.

During the hot summer day, a thunderstorm reached us at night. It was a bit damp in the tent for Moni ⛺️💦... 😏. Unfortunately, it rained the next morning as well. Therefore, we didn't head out to Stein am Rhein until after noon. We strolled through the town, had a small snack, wandered through some shops, and watched the many tourists from a café. Then, we headed back up to the campsite. After dinner at the bistro, we made ourselves comfortable in front of the campervans again, although it was noticeably cooler than the previous night.

Escher spent the second night in the campervan's "upper floor" and successfully passed the ultimate camper test! 🏅😝👍

In the morning, we had breakfast in the sun, while next to us, a group of seniors gathered to play boules. Once we had packed everything up and were ready to travel, we started our journey back. We initially took small side roads, sometimes gravel paths and through forests, and then through small charming villages until we reached Ellikon am Rhein. We had another cozy picnic break at a beautiful secluded spot in the forest.

But unfortunately, even the best weekend comes to an end 🚐🚐🌳🏕👭👭💬!

Thank you very much to Claudia V., Claudia H., Escher, and Moni for the wonderful gift for my milestone birthday. I had a blast with you on the Camper Weekend! We should definitely consider including it in our "annual program"... 😜
