Carcassonne

Argitaratu: 05.06.2017

In Carcassonne we stayed at a campsite with a view of the city's landmark. The medieval fortress known as the Citè of Carcassonne. By the way, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Very large and really amazing, such a well-preserved and impressive sight. We went there in the afternoon and after a leisurely 20-minute walk, we reached the fortress at the top. At first, we thought that it wouldn't be crowded because we hardly encountered anyone on the way, but we were quickly proven wrong. The entire fortress has been equipped with cafes, restaurants, shops, and everything you can imagine. We looked around and had a great view of the whole city.

On the way back, we walked between the walls where it wasn't so busy, and we could enjoy the view in peace.

Since we didn't feel like going back to the campsite yet, we decided to walk into the city of Carcassonne and then realized that it was Pentecost Sunday. All the shops were closed and the city was really deserted. But it's something you can forget when you don't have to worry about it for days. We took a little break at a fountain so Per could play around a bit and get some exercise.

In the evening, Per didn't feel like sleeping at first, but the Manduca carrier did its job. So last night, we set up our little sofa corner for the first time and watched a movie, and then another one.
