And hey presto, here we are...After the first flight from Frankfurt Airport to Qatar and a brisk crossing of what felt like the most magnificent duty-free area in the world, we arrived on the second plane.
Finally off to Johannesburg!
Checked in and almost 8 hours later and very early we landed in Johannesburg.
Picked up at the airport, boarded the bus and strolled through the gold mining town of Pilgrims Rest a few hours later.
Even today, a few hopeful people are still looking for their luck in the churned-up riverbed.
Afterwards there was a refreshment in the best pancake house
Sorely needed along the panoramic route.
A little later we reached our accommodation in Hazyview, where after a jump in the cold pool and a very tasty dinner we will finally fall into mattress heaven after about 39 hours on our feet / plane / bus.
