On May 26th, we went to Venice. In order to save money, we rode our bikes instead of taking the train or boat. The journey was very adventurous and in the end, we had to park our bikes in a bicycle parking lot because bringing them into the city is prohibited. Here, you can safely park your bike for 10€ per day.
A truly beautiful city. The small bridges. The buildings. The decorated windowsills with flowers. For lunch, we had a slice of pizza on the go. The gondoliers tried to convince us to go for a ride. The "starting bid" for a half-hour ride was 80€. Since even half of that was too expensive for us, we politely declined. You could easily spend 1-2-3 more days here to explore every little alley. Despite that, the impression was wonderful. We were lucky because starting from July 1st, there will probably be an entrance fee.
Back at our free parking spot, we cooked pasta and enjoyed the rest of the day. Just as we were falling asleep, at 11:05 PM, some teenagers came and started driving their car recklessly, passing right next to our car. We didn't tolerate that for long and quickly drove away to find a place to spend the night.
