Day 26: Exmouth (Sunset Tour with Whales)

Today we are moving again from Ningaloo Lighthouse Holiday Park to RAC Exmouth Cape Holiday Park. We spent our first night in Exmouth there and the place is simply more beautiful and better equipped. Furthermore, the meeting point for the booked tours is right at the campsite, which is simply more convenient for us.

After booking two nights at the campsite (the pitch is now cheaper than on weekends), Michi also books his swimming tour with the whales for tomorrow (Ocean Eco Adventure, 356 AUD). Since Samuel really wants to go boating and we can't or don't want to go on the day tour with Dad, we decide to do a 3-hour Sunset Whalewatching Tour with the kids (Ocean Eco Adventure, 220 AUD for the whole family).

We settle in at our pitch and cook steaks with wedges and corn. Although it is 'only' 28 degrees, it is quite hot in the midday sun. We are glad to have some shade at our spot. We meet old acquaintances. The Swiss couple we met in Port Hedland also has a pitch next to us here.

Elija takes a nap and Michi goes to the pool with Samuel and Maxima. Elija and I join later and we enjoy the cool water.

At 4 pm we start our whalewatching adventure. We are picked up by a bus at the campsite and taken to the harbor. On the bus, we meet a woman who is traveling alone through Australia for 4 weeks. She is from Ebensee. It's a small world. We are not the only German-speaking guests. A woman from Tyrol and a family of four from Germany are also joining the tour. We go out to sea and don't have to wait long to spot the first humpback whales in the water. We also see a whale mom with her baby. In addition to the amazing and numerous whale sightings, there is also very good and sufficient food on board (snacks, sushi, shrimp). A very successful tour! We can only recommend it.

The kids are pretty exhausted from all the impressions and fall asleep in no time.
