Good morning from rainy Cork,
the 3rd week is over and time is flying by, even though not much is happening at the moment. We are already in the middle of the material in our university courses, and the weather is getting worse. The rain itself doesn't bother us, but the strong wind that drives the rain into our faces is unpleasant. Nevertheless, it's true, Ireland is beautiful even in the rain!
On one of these rainy afternoons, I took the opportunity to escape to Starbucks with my new friends Sadie and Julie. Some of you have probably already heard of the famous 'Pumpkin Spice Latte', which seems to be a staple in America in the fall. Our Starbucks in Cork also offers this, and after I mentioned that I couldn't imagine the taste, I was more or less kindly forced to order it. Coffee with pumpkin flavor? Okay. I was surprised at how good a coffee with pumpkin can taste, but it will never be one of my favorite drinks - sorry Sadie & Julie :)
Which brings us to the right topic - coffee.
Those who know me know how much I love coffee, nothing works without it (yes, I know, too much coffee is unhealthy). I believe I have already mentioned in a previous post that my landlady doesn't have a coffee machine in the house - I was shocked. Of course, this was one of the first things I told my dear Viki. She was also shocked that we don't have a coffee machine, but even more so that I can function normally without coffee. The coffee at the university is not bad, but paying 2.60 € for each cup (in my case, 3 cups of coffee per day) is too expensive for me. So, I accepted the fact that I would live without coffee for 4 months. Until I came home and my landlady told me that a package had been delivered to the post office for me, and she would go and get it. And this is what was inside:
My dear best friend and lifesaver couldn't accept that I wouldn't drink coffee for 4 months. That's why she simply bought me a coffee machine and sent it to Ireland. Yes, I know. Each of you believes that their best friend is the greatest in the world. I would reconsider that, because the title 'best friend of the century' goes to mine.
Your best friend buys you a coffee - mine sends me a coffee machine. #friendshipgoals
You can imagine how much I was excited about it, I didn't know anything about it.
Viki, Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!! <3

Something else interesting happened this week - the Sorting Ceremony of the Harry Potter Society. You can imagine it just like in the movie, your name is called out, you sit in front of everyone on a chair and have the talking hat put on. Really cool. Unfortunately, in my case, the talking hat made a completely and terribly wrong decision - I am in Hufflepuff (#inmyheartimGryffindor), Julie is in Ravenclaw.
Yesterday, on my day off, I explored the area below the River Lee. Here are some pictures of it.
Wishing you a lovely day. Lots of love and greetings from Cork
