Today we are getting help at Mini Molars, which we are incredibly happy about. The new dental assistant is not only incredibly skilled, talented, and gifted, she is also one of the nicest people ever! She is just so great overall that it is a privilege to get to know her. And she also has the most beautiful name ever: Antonia!
Now you fell for it.
Hi guys, this is Antonia speaking!
For those who don't know me: I am Lilly's favorite sister-in-law, the favorite sister of her husband Cornelius! And yes, I am currently in Cambodia. Since I was already traveling in Asia, I thought a visit wouldn't hurt, so I arrived at the airport early yesterday morning, where I was immediately greeted with joy. However, not by Lilly and Cathy, but by what felt like 500 tuk-tuk drivers, one of whom could take me to the hostel, where I eagerly awaited the two of them. Once we were finally reunited, we jumped into the pool and then they showed me a little bit of the city before I had the pleasure of meeting Ulf, Ben, and Keith for dinner!
But enough about yesterday, today is much more exciting!
I am now allowed to stick the suction tube in people's throats!
Well, maybe not that extreme. Of course, I wanted to visit Lilly and Cathy at the clinic as well, so we all get up early in the morning (I wasn't aware that they have to get up at six every day) and drive to the clinic. Once there, I enjoy the benefits of being freshly related and let Lilly look into my mouth. Result: everything is still in place, nothing is loose, just some tartar, so I need to brush more thoroughly. Keith wants to pull out three teeth right away, but I don't really feel like it and quickly leave the chair again. Then Lilly explains to me how to hold the suction tube, where to suction, and how to disinfect myself twice or thrice, and just like that, I become a trained dental assistant with a suction tube in other people's mouths! The profession is quite funny, but not for me. After a while, I've had enough and I go to the incredibly impressive Killing Fields that really knock my socks off.
Afterwards, I pick up Lilly and Cathy from the clinic again, who are waiting for me there with flowers. Unfortunately, I missed the farewell ceremony, which was apparently very beautiful.
For the rest of the day, we spend some time at the pool, some time in the city, and then we prepare for the overnight bus. Which is a whole different story.
