Yesterday we drove away from the beautiful city of Strasbourg and headed towards Lyon. Actually, we wanted to visit Lyon and explore the city, but neither of us felt like it. So I booked a private accommodation for us in the small village of Bret, away from Lyon. It was a dreamy little apartment nestled in the vineyards.
Before we arrived there, we had to endure a 5-hour drive. Daniela decided to torture me with French hits. Oh boy, I couldn't stand it, I almost wanted to leave her at a rest stop.
During the drive, we both noticed that the trees in France are much further into autumn than they are where we live. It definitely looked and still looks very beautiful. When we reached our highway exit, we had to drive through several small villages for about 10 minutes. They looked really charming, and when we spotted our little house in the vineyards, we were in awe.
Our hostess is super nice and quickly explained everything to us. We could have screamed with joy. This accommodation is a dream. It has a great terrace with a beautiful panoramic view of the vineyards and villages.
We were recommended the wine village of Oingt. It's truly an idyllic little wine village. I was completely impressed by it. The 'old' locals were sitting outside the small typical village bistros, enjoying their wine. They greeted us friendly and Littlefoot received some petting. The small and especially narrow streets were absolutely worth seeing, as were the old houses :-)!
I bought a long, firm salami (150 grams) in a store and I devoured it all by myself on the way to the accommodation. I was so full afterwards and I had such a big salami belly :-()...horrible...but soooooo delicious :-))))!
Littlefoot loves her toy balls, but it was incredible that she started chasing badminton balls too. Every time the ball fell to the ground, she ran over and grabbed it. She would then run off with it, leaving countless bite marks on the cork. The little son of our hostess looked very critically and immediately took his new Adidas soccer ball to safety :-).
In the evening, we wandered through the vineyards and admired the sunset. Littlefoot had a lot of fun running between the vines :-). We wanted to steal a grape, but they were still a little too small. Too bad :-/
We spent a long evening on the terrace and admired the full starry sky.
