I got the necessary strength for my second trip at breakfast. This was urgently needed, as I had chosen my bike parking space on the other side of the Elbe a bit too high. But the descent later was incredibly fun 😁
After school classes and hiking groups were left behind, I could enjoy the view from the Schrammsteinen. Unlike yesterday, the ascent was a little rougher. Not quite as cleared for tourists, which I liked. The descent was also a highlight with many steep ladders.
To reach my second destination, the Carolafelsen, I had to walk through the forest for quite a while and then conquer the Wilde Hölle. Fortunately, navigation problems led me to go up instead of down. A wild ride over many pure stones, following the motto 'The floor is lava!' 😁 I enjoyed it! When I arrived at the top, there was a breathtaking view in front of my eyes. The view into the distance can actually only be enjoyed. I would have liked to spend more time here 😕
But I had to catch a train and return my bike. The way back was a bit tedious, quite unspectacular along hiking trails, and the historic Kiernitsch Valley Railway didn't impress me either. Old, loud, slow, boring..
All of this may seem quickly written down to you, but today had everything I wanted: challenging ascents and descents, incredible views, quiet moments while watching out and hiking through the forest. Of course, I haven't seen all the spots yet - that's definitely worth a return visit 😊
What followed was the obligatory doner kebab test here on site 😅 After months of abstaining, I was curious. With 5 euros, the price was affordable. You can actually see the rest in the picture 🤐
Tomorrow, I will check out and continue to Bavaria for a hopefully hearty folk festival 🍻
