The day before yesterday we went to Geneva airport. We expected about two hours of flight to Paris. After we arrived, we went to have something small to eat. We were all a little nervous. Why? Because the test results from the swab for the coronavirus were not yet available. One hour before the flight! When it was too late and we could no longer check in, we had to go to an airport hotel for one night. The test results came late in the evening. We spent the next day in Paris. We saw the Eiffel Tower and went to the Place de la Concorde. We found a small amusement park and my brother and I went on a ride that was 60 meters high. It was a type of rod with eight seats placed at the top and bottom. It spun and turned around at a speed of 120 km/h and 5.5G. In the end, I was stung by a wasp in the neck. We were able to take off at 9 o'clock. It was an overnight flight of about 11 hours. When we arrived, a driver from the hotel was already waiting for us. We drove from the north to the northwest of the island. The island looks huge on the map, but it only took us 30 minutes to drive to the hotel. It is very beautiful and idyllic here. It smells like essential oils everywhere.
The temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius and there is a cool breeze. We are surrounded by a huge lagoon and the current is very strong. Giant waves break outside the reef. It looks fantastic! You can only swim in the lagoon because there are many sharks. In recent years, there have been many shark attacks as well.
BTW: When sharks bite humans, it happens out of curiosity, because humans are not on the sharks' menu.
The water is about 22 degrees warm. So not that warm, especially not for a "coward" like me;). We will be here for six days and then travel around the island, but you will find out when the time comes.
Oh, by the way: Can you guess on which island we are? A little tip, YB - player Guillaume Hoarau comes from here (YB is champion again - yeeeeeee:))
