Robberg Nature Reserve

Argitaratu: 28.11.2019

Plettenberg is known for the Robberg Nature Reserve. Therefore, this morning (Tuesday 26.11) we headed there. It is even not far from our accommodation, only about 10 minutes drive. In the Robberg Nature Reserve, there are three different

hiking trails that all connect to each other.

We decided to do the first two hikes.

• The Gap: Short & easy, 2.1 kilometers, about 30 minutes

• Witsand: Medium & easy, 5.5 kilometers, about 2 hours

The trail first leads over a wooden walkway high above the coast, where we spotted and heard a colony of seals in the water below.

Then we continued on a slightly rocky and then sandy path towards the sea.

The beach down there was beautiful.

After cooling our feet off and giving Svenja's shoe some cooling as well, in the attempt to put it back on, the hike continued along the coast and then uphill.

Once we reached the top, the trail joined the first trail, passing by the seals, again.

Since the hike was quite exhausting in the heat, we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the terrace of our accommodation.
