Good morning,
The saying: Somehow things always go on, is cliché, but there is some truth to it. I slept relatively well and enjoyed a good breakfast at the hotel this morning. But I keep catching myself worrying too much. Internally, I tell myself: Hey, you're here to practice, and then I realize that a certain level of serenity is necessary. I really enjoy watching people, listening (even if I don't speak the language, I still pick up on things a bit). Starting tomorrow, there will be a strike here, and numerous flights will be canceled. It's a crazy world. It's important for me to stay flexible, otherwise I feel like I'm falling behind, not keeping up anymore.
The flight to Bogota was long but okay. Just as I had hired a taxi driver, Farina suddenly appeared in front of me. It was nice to hug her again after 2 months. After a 30-minute taxi ride, we arrived at the hostel. It's small but nice. Right in the historic center of Bogota. 8 million inhabitants, so actually not something for me.
This morning, we had to start thinking about our next journey. Unfavorable time (Christmas). The original bus was already fully booked. With the help of the hostel, Farina booked another route with lots of patience. But it's not the final destination for the day, it's still 3 hours away 🤔. We hope we can continue without a reservation. It's getting exciting.
We had breakfast on the rooftop terrace in glorious sunshine with a view of Cerro Monserrate. We then walked up there as well. Our hearts were really put to the test again. It was about 600 meters uphill on a well-made path, up to 3200m. Bogota is already at 2600m.
We had to cancel the planned city tour due to the complicated bus organization. It's a shame, but that's how it is.
Food today was also a surprise package. But okay, except for a plate where we actually thought there would be bread and something with coconut. But it was more like a tasteless root. We got full for about 15 Euros.
