Day 16 Today was clear: a lot of errands. Our intermediate destination was Otranto, a small port town with a historic old town and fortress surrounded by a city wall. But like so often, too many Homo sapiens. When I bought myself a water, Burki was approached by a Kenyan. Small exchange: What's your name? Where are you from? How many children do you have? When we said 3, he gave us a total of 5 leather bracelets for our family. If we wanted, we could give him some money. He will leave Italy tomorrow, his wife Fatima is having a baby. Of course, that won't be true, but we gladly gave him 10 euros. He was so nice and it didn't hurt us. Then visit to the laundry, actually cool such an institution. I've never been there before. Then shopping and continue driving to a beach near Leuca. The coastal road in between was beautiful but very populated. In front of a beach bar there was a large mowed green area. We parked ourselves on the edge of this parking lot, don't want to disturb anyone.
Day 17: At 6:00 a tractor rattles by. Weird, so get dressed and take a look. Already prepared for a scolding internally. But nothing like that, he mowed around us first and then said in German: Why don't you park in the middle, then you won't get so much dust on you. Gracie, you cool Italiano. Then another beach resort after another. We've had enough of that and decide to drive to the Pollino National Park. In Taranto we experience the absolute navigation stress, drive several more kilometers and I'm completely annoyed. Sometimes this driving really gets on my nerves. And I feel like I have to get out of the car before I burst. And then of course there's no parking space or anything like that. But you create this stress yourself, sometimes it's strange. Then we found a nice parking space at a reservoir.
