Monkey Island and Clifden Cave

Monkey

On our way to Invercargill, we stopped at a free campground and spent 2 nights there. Coincidentally, this campground is located on the beach where Monkey Island is also located. Monkey Island is a small lookout hill that can only be reached by walking when it's low tide. In the evening, as we walked along the beach and "climbed" Monkey Island :D, we were also lucky enough to see dolphins. It's amazing to camp right next to the beach.

Clifden Cave

We found Clifden Cave in our CamperMate App. The entrance went through rocks into the ground. We had to climb a little, but it wasn't a big deal. Once inside the cave, it was very narrow and twisty, yet with enough space to not feel claustrophobic. It looked like a stalactite cave. If you turn off the lights and wait a bit, you can also see glowworms. We thought we were deep inside the cave, but when we came out, people told us that there are 2 levels and that there's a "pool" in the middle and you can come out at the other end. Well, what we saw was enough for us, I really liked it.
