Day 11: On the Trail of the Beatles (02/02/2017)

I did it! After over 30 hours, I finally arrived in Rishikesh. Unfortunately, in the darkness, I could only imagine the beauty of the city. Once I arrived at the hostel, I went straight to the rooftop terrace and chatted with other guests around the bonfire. The city seemed much calmer and more relaxed. In the distance, you could hear the rushing of the Ganges and the crackling of the bonfire. The guests were very esoteric and spiritual, which was evident not only from their clothing. Many of them sought their peace in one of the numerous ashrams, while others found their inner peace through yoga. Even the Beatles sought their spiritual enlightenment in Rishikesh in the 1960s. Nowadays, the yoga capital is visited by thousands of tourists from all over the world every year.
