Phuket Part 1

Friday 22.9. (77km)

The first day of cycling.

Going quite well, occasional rain.

Sleeping place: behind a restaurant.

Saturday 23.9. (97.6km)

Raining all the time.

We are soaking wet.

To avoid spending another night in the tent, we cycle to the southern tip of Phuket to reach our hosts' vacation home.

Sunday 24.9. - Tuesday 26.9

It keeps raining.

Fortunately, our hosts have a television with 10,000 DVDs.

We only cycle around the area once and find a nice restaurant right on the beach where we eat when it's pouring rain again...

Wednesday 27.9. (60km/800hm)

It's my beloved brother's birthday.

Happy 30th Birthday!!

Today it's supposed to stay dry and we explore the island.

We ride over to the western tip to Rawai and further west through hilly terrain to Kata Beach.

On the way, we see elephants (unfortunately not wild, they are for tourists to ride).

It's extremely hot and we get a bit sunburned.

After one of the worst lunches, we reach the beach with some waves and surfers.

A taste of our next vacation week at Patong Beach where we will meet Markus.

I hope my knee allows for surfing!!!
