Hangzhou - Nighttime Skyline

We have arrived in Hangzhou, and first I have to revise my plans, as a typhoon is unexpectedly approaching, even though the main season for typhoons has actually ended a month ago. Ultimately, the sky is not only covered with thick clouds all the time, but the typhoon is also hurling its rain mass towards Hangzhou, resulting in 2 days of rain during our planned three-day stay. The outdoor photos are correspondingly rather mediocre to unusable. My intended hotel, the Alibaba FlyZoo Future Hotel, was fully booked. This hotel features many technological elements which I would have liked to experience. These are not good conditions, but we are trying to make the best of our trip. After all, I can't blow away the rainfall or chase people out of the hotel room. Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang Province in China, known for its picturesque landscapes and rich history. The city is located on Hangzhou Bay and is famous for West Lake, surrounded by numerous parks and scenic spots. Hangzhou was once the capital of the Song Dynasty and is considered a cultural and economic center, with a population of over 12 million. The city is known for its tea culture, especially the Longjing tea. This cultural aspect, and particularly the Liangzhu culture, whose archaeological site and museum complex are located nearby, influenced my choice of Hangzhou as a travel destination. Even on the evening of our arrival, we take the metro to the city center, which takes about 50 minutes. We admire the skyline with the LED facades (though it seems to me that not all are switched on), pass by the golden spherical convention center, appreciate the architecture and lighting of the theater, and on the other side of the wide Qiantang River, see the U-shaped Hangzhou Arch. There's an incredibly calm atmosphere here. Almost all vehicles are electric cars, quietly whizzing by and standing still at traffic lights. The parks and green spaces dampen other noise. This tranquility in a bustling city surrounded by skyscrapers feels almost surreal but is very pleasant.
