Thoddoo Maldives

Avaldatud: 27.11.2019

After my amazing time on the Maldives in May [Ukulhas], I decided to fly with my mother again for a week for a special mother-daughter trip back to paradise.

I could not believe to enjoy this spot on earth again and share beautiful moments together.

Full of anticipation, we arrived early in the morning at the airport in Trivandrum and expected our plane scheduled two hours later.

WE THOUGHT ...

We are in India😁 Shortly before we entered the airport hall, I received an email from the Indian airline with the information that our flight would take place 5 hours later. Dead tired and shock frozen by the icy temperatures in the waiting hall, we had no other choice than to persevere and to train patience.

After a few minutes, I received by mail the further information that the flight will be delayed not only 5, but 8 hours. 😡

With noodle soups, lots of YouTube and pillows, scarves and socks, we survived the waiting time. After a short time we could laugh about it again and fool around like two crazy chicken.😁😋

After almost an hour of flight, the first atolls finally appeared from the air and we entered Maldivian soil. Incredible.

The transfer to our island Thodoo lasted less than two hours, during which we swept across the ocean on a speedboat with loud engine noise. That was another awesome experience. 😁

Upon arrival at Thoddoo, we were warmly received by our host Adam, who greeted us with a welcome coconut. 🥥

After we left the suitcases in our accommodation 'Palm Garden', there was only one wish: as fast as in the bathing suits and down to the beach. Thanks to Adam, we were able to experience a first swim at sunset! 🌅

The island is inhabited by locals, at the time of our stay there were fortunately only a few tourists on the ground except for a few Russians.

There are two bikini beaches with hammocks and loungers. The nature is really breathtaking. On children's bikes (obviously there are only those on the island) we drove through numerous plantations. Much of the island is used for growing vegetables, watermelons and papayas.

So we were lucky enough to enjoy freshly picked papaya and watermelon every day. 🍉🥭

At our travel time there was monsoon time on the island. In addition to sufficient hours of sunshine, there was a suddenly strong, but usually short-lasting rainfall. 💧💧

After the puddles were filled with ankle-deep muddy water on our daily itinerary, it was a pure joy and adventure to bounce there with our mini-bikes.😂

In addition to extensive swims and sunbathing, I went on a diving trip with my mother and on my own several snorkeling tours. I was happy to meet some sea turtles and the colorful underwater underwater world. 🦀🐚🐚🐠🐟. The turtles were very friendly, so I could walk close to them. 🐢

With our host Adam we enjoyed one or the other resort's 'beer party' 🍻🍹. Since there was no alcohol to buy on the island because of culture, we were satisfied with non-alcoholic would-be beer. 😋

In the last two days I was spoiled with Adam's extensive jetski tours around the island. 🚀

In doing so, I discovered my new passion and could not get enough to drive the jetski myself and rushed over the waves.

Also my mother was invited to a ride and enjoyed the speedy adventure totally 😊.

Water skiing attempts on my part failed miserably is probably not quite my thing then. 😋

At the end of our trip, we started an extensive beach shooting in full sun.🥴☀

Our last evening we crowned in a local restaurant with a lush fish plate and fruit shakes. 🐟🍉🍊

After an intense and relaxing time, after 8 days happily and a little bit wistfully we started our return journey to India to be back at the Ashram punctually on the mum's birthday the next day.

This time, however, the return trip turned out to be a challenge, as the waves were much stronger and we were tangled up at a felt 300 Ps. 🤕🤢

No wonder that passengers were supplied with vomit bags, which were sometimes filled with content. Fortunately, our stomach has then held tight.

Thank you mom, for a nice experience together. ❤

I'm thankful that once again I got the chance to fly to the Maldives. '
