Tag 327 - Exploring Khao Sok National Park by scooter

Hello everyone

This morning we spontaneously decided that we want to spend the few days before New Year's on an island after all.

Therefore, our day today was a bit more hectic than expected, because I really wanted to see that one viewpoint here. That sounds easier than it is, because all the tours were not available at such short notice. So at 12 o'clock we got on the scooter and drove about an hour to a port on the lake. Because this viewpoint is supposedly only accessible by boat.

When we arrived at the port, the lady at the ticket booth asked us if we had made a reservation - of course not. We wanted to buy tickets there, but then she suddenly said that the viewpoint was closed and that we could just drive around on the lake for two hours. We didn't really want to do that, so we took a short break there and headed back.

For quite a while, Kevin drove along the lake, looking for another port - but without success. About 20 kilometers before our accommodation, there was another turnoff, titled "Khao Sok Ranger Station" and the road led directly into the national park. We decided to ride along there, maybe we'll discover something great.

After a few kilometers, the road became wilder and suddenly I saw a path that led into the jungle. We took another break and followed the path for a short distance (really only about 80 meters 😉).

Then we got back on the scooter and continued. And actually, a few minutes later we actually drove to a viewpoint! It wasn't the one I had picked out, but it was also beautiful!

We took a longer break there, ate some snacks and had something to drink.

At 4:45 pm it was time to finish comfortably!

We wanted to spend the evening on our terrace in the internet for one last time and have our dinner delivered to our room. But the kitchen closes at 5:30 pm and we still had plenty of time left!

So we started driving and we actually made it!

We reached the reception at 5:32 pm and were still allowed to order ☺️

By 6 o'clock, the food was with us and it tasted great again!

Now we're going to spend the rest of the evening in the cool net ☺️
