The morning started just like yesterday. I woke up late and packed everything up. I bought a panini and a fresh baguette at the bakery in the next village. The panini was toasted in a contact grill and it tasted really good. I also took out the trash that had been accumulating for a few days and then drove for about 1.5 hours to La Rochelle. The 80 km drive on country roads was nice.😁 I took off my bike and zoomed into the city. It was 36 degrees and I packed plenty of water in my backpack. The planet was burning (wordplay by Clmnsbrock). After about an hour, I took a break on a shady bench and read my book. (See picture 1) The shadow had slowly moved away from my bench. So I got on my bike and continued🚲 Despite the break, I quickly ran out of energy and rode back to the bus. Now enjoying a cold cola, that was a dream come true. While looking for a spot to park, I made a stop at the supermarket and the gas station. And 10 km later, I was standing on a parking lot with a view of the sea.
I took a nap and then went to do some laundry. Today was laundry day. I didn't have any more t-shirts. So I kneaded the t-shirts, underwear, and socks like the old washerwomen. 30 minutes later, I was done and I have to say, having a washing machine at home is a great luxury.
Today I had a snack. With fried eggs, fresh baguette, tomatoes, cheese, good salami, and, of course, cold beer🍺 on such a hot☀️ day. After doing the dishes, I took a shower and ended the evening with a cold beer, overlooking the sea and sunset 🌅.
