To cover some distance today, we started early. The journey began with crossing a huge bridge over the Mekong. From the bridge, we looked down on the city where we spent the last night. After driving out of the city for a while, we visited a mechanic to freshen up the motorcycles. This included an oil change, changing lights, adjusting brakes, and tightening the chain, mainly on Marko's bike. While the motorcycles were being tinkered with, we sat beside and leisurely enjoyed our breakfast. The route after the mechanic took us past kilometer-long banana plantations and a completely green landscape. On the way to our destination for the day, we had to use a total of three ferries and countless bridges to cross the many arms of the Mekong. Overall, we were getting more and more used to the motorcycles and the rules of the road. After 130km, we reached our hotel in Long Xuyen. From here, tomorrow, we will head into the hinterland of the Mekong Delta, away from the main roads.
At a roadside stall, we had Vietnamese noodle soup with chicken for dinner...
