Tag 122: Temples and pagodas as far as the eye can see

After arriving in Bagan (4 a.m.), we shared a taxi to our hostel with a couple. We woke up the night watchman and checked in. We woke up just before 9 a.m. to not miss the free breakfast and then went back to bed. Finally, at around 11 a.m., we set off. We rented three electric scooters and drove around aimlessly. No matter where we went or walked, we saw old temples and pagodas everywhere. There were a total of 4,000 pagodas here, of which 2,000 are still standing. We stopped where we liked and visited at least 15 pagodas, we had stopped counting at some point. In the evening, we went to an observation tower to watch the sunset. We were so happy all day today because we simply enjoyed the freedom of the scooters and the solitude among all the pagodas.
