Sintra, here we are!

The first longer stage goal has been reached! After more than 3000 km of driving and crossing 5 country borders, we have arrived in Sintra! The drive from Spain was once again adventurous and very foggy and rainy.

We had breakfast as usual on the way - this time at a rest stop. After we figured out how the Portuguese toll works, we reached Sintra around 3pm. By that time, we finally realized that we have a time difference, which we didn't know so far 😁

Today we checked in at the Sintra Boutique Hotel for one night and are happy to hop into bed with dry feet after the rain. After a short stay in the room, we explored the city and met Hauke and Elvia for tapas. We had a great evening and very delicious food at the Tascantiga restaurant. After we finished, we wanted to have a nightcap in one of the nearby bars. On the way there, the groom Timo suddenly stood in front of us, who was letting the evening come to an end with his future wife and family in the restaurant next door. After a short chat, we said goodbye and had one last gin and tonic in the rain.

We had a very nice day and are happy to congratulate two birthday boys today. Happy 91st birthday, Grandpa ❤️ and welcome to the world, little Ella 😘
