We've seen a lot in the meantime... On Sunday we stayed in Stavanger . A walk through the old town with many, many white houses, then strolled through the city, which is completely empty on Sundays. And finally, the visit to the Petroleum Museum, which was included in the trip, was more interesting than expected.
Yesterday we went ashore in Ålesund , a very pretty little town that was rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century - in Art Nouveau style, of course.
You see, we follow the Hurtigruten line, but we don't include all the stops. For example, we will stop in Bergen on the way back; Trondheim was also left out. Not only do we get excellent food on board, there are also lectures and small meetings on deck if there is something special to see. Like a mountain with a hole in it. Or just a tasting of dried fish…
The landscape is gradually getting cooler, but to my surprise not everything is still covered in snow. The shore/shore region is relatively warm due to the (relatively) warm sea water that arrives here with the Gulf Stream, but from about 30 km inland it is still really winter and we keep seeing mountains of snow in the background.
