In Udaipur we check in to a beautiful hostel. We stroll through the charming narrow streets of the old town and look for a restaurant for dinner. We have chosen the best. At the highest rooftop restaurant, we looked out over the illuminated city by candlelight and enjoyed very delicious food and drinks with perfect service. We also got to know the friendly chef and chatted with him from time to time about this and that.
After a pleasant night, we went to the City Palace. We walked through the large area all the way to Lake Pichola. There we took a boat tour around a hotel located in the lake and also made a stop at the Jagmandir Palace.
The next day, we continued to Pushkar by train.
When we arrived in Ajmer in the evening, it was chaos. A festival tent was set up, everything was illuminated, loud music was already playing through the train station hall, and masses of people were gathered. We escaped the chaos with a rickshaw and reached our accommodation in the nearby village of Pushkar after a very bumpy ride. We learned that there was a festival going on in India, which is why there was loud music coming from the speakers and people shouting.
In Pushkar, there was just as much going on, so we decided to endure the crowd for only a few hours to see Lake Pushkar, the market street, some temples, and a bit of the surroundings.
