Tag 99 - Reading difficulties

Not very exciting, but here are some more photos of the office in the project. Actually, it's not just an office, but also a teacher's room, pantry, meeting and individual teaching room, and storage. And there's a toilet (It took about 5 weeks until a small latch for locking was finally installed, typical). The equipment is rudimentary: 2 laptops, a small printer, a tiny coffee machine, and a refrigerator. The rest is furniture. You have to climb a steep steel staircase with huge high steps and initially stand on a kind of terrace. From here you have a clear view of the Mombacho volcano.

In addition to the shelf with mostly tattered games, the so-called library is also located in the former office. It's a mystery to me how to inspire children to read with such junk books. There are many books in English, which is very clever because most children don't understand English. You can also find books from previous centuries, whose topics and illustrations make you want to...throw them away. It definitely itches my fingers. There is no apparent order and everything is dusty. I will ask Keeley if I can do a big clean-up and get rid of some things here. And maybe get some new games and books. Jim would like to separate a corner as a reading area from the classroom below the new office. A decision has not yet been made. But that would be in line with my ideas.

Starting tomorrow, an international poetry festival will take place in Granada. International means: mostly Central and South America. There is also a section for children's and young adult literature. I want to take a look there. In the only bookstore in Granada, they could show me two books for teenagers. After buying one for Manuel, there is only one left in Granada that is not privately owned. Hopefully, I can also put my noble intentions into action.

Temperature around 30 degrees, clear sky, almost no wind.
