Netherlands September 2018 - Julianadorp - Through the dunes to the beach

Our first day of vacation in the Netherlands started off very relaxed. After a good night's sleep, we had a leisurely breakfast and then slowly got ready for the beach. But first, we took a short walk through the dunes. The weather today was really pleasant. Bright sunshine, comfortable temperature, although quite windy. It was perfect for wearing a t-shirt in the sun. However, people seemed to have different perceptions of the temperature. During our walk, we encountered people who were already bundled up in thick winter jackets and hats. At 18 degrees...

We took a different route back, along the beach. The wind was even stronger there. But no matter, we took off our shoes and put our feet in the sand! The water was super cold, but some brave souls still went for a swim. We found a cozy spot at the Paal 6 kiosk and ordered fries and frikandels, enjoying the sun that occasionally peeked out. Inside the kiosk, it was sheltered from the wind and pleasantly warm in the sun. We ate our fries with a view of the ocean - just as we had imagined, simply perfect!
