When you have an indoor pool right next to your room, you can use it before breakfast like my parents. I prefer the option of sleeping in. Breakfast was very good again today. Right in the hotel lobby. Really nice. I immediately used the very good WiFi to send birthday greetings home via FaceTime.

Today was another short driving day. If we had taken the direct route, we would have only been on the road from Park City to Evanston in Wyoming for about an hour. That's why we chose the more beautiful but slightly longer route.

But first we went to the Olympic Park Utah as planned. It was wonderfully empty and free of charge. We strolled around the ski jumps and the Olympic bobsleigh track and also visited the museum. Really very interesting and lovingly made.

Then we set off into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Just past Kamas, we drove up to Mirror Lake on the mountain pass. Wonderful scenery with narrow valleys and towering mountain ranges to the left and right. Wherever there were especially many cars stopping, today is Labor Day and you can also notice that on the roads, there is often something to see or it is a particularly beautiful place for a picnic. We stopped at a waterfall. You only had to walk a few steps down from the road. But the way back was difficult because we were already quite high and the oxygen was noticeably lower.

A few miles further on, we found a great lake right by the road. Here you could meet paddlers and anglers, but also people like us who just wanted to eat something small. A wonderful place at almost 8,000 ft above sea level.

At some point we drove back down again. Nevertheless, the altitude level is generally very high. We leave Utah and come to Wyoming, the Cowboy State.

We arrived in Evanston early, checked into our room at the Super 8 motel and then explored the town a bit. We stocked up on breakfast items at Walmart for the upcoming days. We also discovered the River Walk along Bear River. A kind of recreational spot that invites you to take a walk and linger. Really nice.

In addition, we found a memorial in front of the county building commemorating the various wars and their victims. Very well kept and very impressive. Once again, it was a beautiful American day. Good night.
