After going to bed at 8:15 pm on Saturday (tired from doing nothing and the sun), we spent Sunday at the beach with two breaks: breakfast and dinner. 😀 We were in bed early on Sunday as well. During the night on Monday, there was a strong storm and in the morning it rained heavily and there was a strong wind! However, about two hours later the storm was over and the weather was beautiful again. We wanted to rent bicycles, but we didn't have to fill out anything, we could just take them. Chill lifestyle. Everything is soooo relaxed here and the staff is so friendly, but not artificial!
We first drove north to the 'Glass Window Bridge', a sight where on one side of the bridge you could see the Atlantic Ocean, which looked dark blue, almost black, and on the other side the Exuma Sound, whose water was turquoise. Beautiful! But the way there was difficult: it was very hot and the sun was beating down on us...And it wasn't just straight ahead! We met other tourists (of course in cars, NO ONE else was riding a bike!!) and they said, 'Great job girls, these hills are no joke!' 😂 Unfortunately, our bikes only had three gears and the brakes only worked by backpedaling - really exhausting. But we were brave and were on the road for a total of 2 hours, as we wanted to buy supplies at the 7/11. This was pretty much the only shop around, dark inside and with a very small selection. But we found a little something for breakfast and snacks. After the ride, I was pretty exhausted and just lay around for two hours. Eventually, we went to the pool and went to bed early in the evening.
We spent Tuesday and Wednesday at the pool and the beach...I read and slept a lot and even went to the 24-hour fitness center once, physical exertion 😂 The highlight on Wednesday was a new episode of 'Suits' in the evening - unfortunately it wasn't very exciting.
Thursday was our last day, which we spent at the pool again. Since I had already gotten too much sun (I looked like a shrimp!) I stayed away from the evening sun and went back on the cross trainer.
On Friday we left the paradise resort early and spent two hours at the tiny airport.
All in all, I can highly recommend the resort for relaxation! This is paradise.
