In my last week in Argentina, I took a trip to Tigre, a city north of Buenos Aires. This small town borders the Delta of the Paraná River, which flows directly into the Río de la Plata and has numerous river branches. I arrived by Tren de la Costa, a train that, as the name suggests, runs along the coast. Since the journey took a bit longer, I unfortunately fell asleep during the trip, but while awake, I was able to see small souvenir markets or even a restaurant right on the platform at each train station, which were especially beautiful. Once arrived, most tourists, like myself, take a boat tour around the islands of the Tigre Delta and use the remaining time to stroll through the shopping streets of Puerto de Frutos and Chinatown, or enjoy a good meal. However, Tigre has even more to offer: you can go kayaking, visit the huge Parque de la Costa amusement park, or go to the casino. I enjoyed getting out of the city and visiting the Argentine recreational area, which is truly breathtaking and where one could spend days exploring.
