A downpour full of Shakespeare and charm

Eldonita: 05.09.2024

Yesterday, the rain started right on time, as if it had an appointment with me. After a shift spent earnestly explaining to my colleague that my name is Sarah and not Susanne (yes, apparently that’s a real tongue twister!), my workday ended with a cozy café among colleagues. Of course, for me as a non-coffee drinker, there was only tea😋

I didn't want to miss the opportunity and set off to stroll through the city center, trying to stay somewhat dry. This time, I followed in the footsteps of the great Shakespeare. Yes, I was in search of the most romantic drama of all time.

In between, I had to take shelter under several arches and balconies as the rain, like an uninvited guest, interrupted my tour. Yet, despite the damp conditions, I eventually found 'la casa di Romeo'. I must admit, I passed by it at first glance, it was that unremarkable.

In stark contrast was 'la casa di Giulietta', which resembled a packed amusement park. The streams of tourists were hard to overlook. Nevertheless, I managed to push my way to the balcony almost without the use of my elbows.

Along the way, I came across countless beautiful corners and squares, each inviting me to linger with their wonderful charm. I felt like an explorer in a romantic labyrinth, where every step whispered new stories. Who would have thought that rain could bring so much inspiration? Maybe I should take walks in the rain more often – but with an umbrella ☔️✨
