Today we were able to visit Gibraltar without getting wet. The rain started again after we returned.
After strict control at the border crossing, we were able to enter Great Britain. Our neighbors told us that we shouldn't drive across the border with the motorhome, as the whole car is often searched at the border.
Just after crossing the border, we are standing in front of the airplane runway across the road. The road is simply blocked during takeoff and landing.
Unfortunately, the cable car was out of service, so we couldn't go up the mountain to see the monkeys. €30 per person for a taxi or minibus wasn't worth it to us. So we explored the city and the harbor on a 10 km walk. The stores offer an incredibly gaudy selection, with many Asian traders present. The Christmas decorations were also very colorful and artificial. The city is home to many diverse cultures and languages.
There are many large and small yachts in the harbor. A large, apparently former, cruise ship has been converted into a casino. Overall, Gibraltar is not particularly well maintained. It bothered me that we were approached in front of every restaurant, very friendly but also intrusive.
