04.01.2017 - Burgos (Spain)

This morning it was very foggy at the castle in Castelo Branco, so we skipped the visit and continued towards Spain.

Refueling, filling up gas (so we can heat if we're heading to cold weather :-)), waste disposal, everything was possible at a gas station, so now we're prepared for the journey home. On the way, we stopped at Intermarche for some shopping. There, we noticed the washing machine facility again, which we have seen frequently in Portugal. (see photo)

Due to the time change, we arrived at our milestone Burgos (500 km) one hour later than planned. :-( Actually, we wanted to visit the city center, as I have fond memories of it when I walked the Camino de Santiago. However, it is a 2.5 km walk and that was too far for us tonight. Let's see if we can find a parking lot closer tomorrow and pay a visit.

On the way here, we experienced various weather conditions, from fog to sun and blue sky with temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to cool 11 degrees and cloudy sky.

The landscape here in Spain looks different again. Many vast meadows with large herds of cattle, forests, and partly already with deciduous trees and large cultivated agricultural areas.
