The walk to breakfast took longer than planned because a group of capuchin monkeys were jumping through the trees.
On the feeding platform we saw a Green Macaw and many hummingbirds buzzing to their feeding stations while having breakfast.
We had booked a private tour to the Curi Cancha Reserve in the morning to fill the time until we were picked up for our sailing cruise with an excursion.
Our guide picked us up at the hotel and walked with us along the reserve's hiking trails.
We saw humpbacked cicadas being fattened by ants to get their sweet excretions.
We were also able to observe many different birds and saw them particularly well with the help of our guide's telescope.
He showed us a sloth in a tree that we would never have found without him.
He also found a few well-camouflaged frogs for us at a pond.
We also came across a group of coatis while they were looking for food in the undergrowth.
In a hole we saw an impressively large tarantula, which was currently sleeping.
Finally, we walked through a flower garden that was created for insects.
Then we went back to the hotel, where we waited for the transfer to the boat.
