the days on the Pacific coast

Eldonita: 05.11.2024

And yet another week has flown by, and it's time for the next adventure!

On Thursday after kindergarten, we took a 4-hour bus ride to the beautiful city of Quepos. It is located west of San José on the stunning Pacific coast.

We booked a dreamily beautiful hostel for 50 € for three nights through booking.com! Including a pool and lots of animals.

I will never forget the first sight of the room, as it consisted only of a corrugated iron roof and canopy beds with mosquito nets, as well as an outdoor shower & toilet, right in the jungle, and with the most beautiful view over the landscape I have ever seen! Everyone was amazed!

The first night was a bit restless, as it was quite loud without any walls. Especially when you have a large flock of parrots flying past your room in the morning; they make quite a noise!

On Friday, we went to the famous national park, Manuel Antonio, which is bursting with biodiversity!

Getting tickets turned out to be quite difficult, but once everyone managed to get in, and we booked the guide, it was all about enjoying!

After about 15 minutes, we saw our first sloth, and I took stunning photos!

Within the next 3 hours, we saw countless different animals like geckos, snakes, crabs, birds, and many plants with our very experienced guide! He had a portable telescope with him, which allowed us to see the animals up close and in great detail.

There were also bats, iguanas, and sloths that made us dizzy :)

This tour was worth it all!

After that, it was time to relax on the white sandy beach, and we ended the evening by cooking in our hostel room.

On Saturday, we walked into the city and eventually decided to have another day at the beach since the weather was so nice. Also, we went zip-lining through the jungle, which was exciting!

At the beach, we were constantly offered fresh coconuts and souvenirs.

In the evening, we all collapsed into bed, tired from the sun and everything, because we wanted to get up early on Sunday!

We watched the sunrise with flying parrots, it was truly magical!

As the last highlight of the weekend, we went to a waterfall in the jungle, where we took fantastic photos! It was at a riverbed, and you could even jump into the water.

With many new impressions and great new stories in our luggage, we then headed back to San José for about eight euros in 4 hours.

There, we met our new roommates from America and Germany!

One highlight follows another, and I can hardly stop raving about the amazing country I'm in. Even though everything is so different from home, I experience the culture and the people as something truly special.

I am grateful for the chance to experience all of this here while being healthy and happy! Really happy, I think happier than ever before!

Almost as if I am flying

Best wishes and only the best Pura Vida vibes to you!
