Tag 128: warm welcome in Taiwan

Today I had to wake up at four o'clock to be on time at the airport with the taxi. Being overly cautious, I had almost three hours of waiting time at the airport. So I found a bench near my gate and slept for a while.

After a four-hour flight, we landed at Taipei Airport. The immigration to Taiwan was the fastest and easiest I've had so far on the whole trip. Ilan was already waiting for me in the arrivals hall. We took a bus for about two hours to her home. There, I was warmly greeted by her brother and mother.

Since a typhoon was announced for the upcoming night, I helped the family bring everything inside the house. Afterwards, we took a walk through a local park and got some dinner. We had a lot to talk about because it's been four years since we met in Canada.

I completely slept through the typhoon at night because it was a very long day today and I was very tired.
