What could be better to start the day than a bath in a beautiful river like the Odda? Nothing! But admittedly, the bath was quite short due to the temperature. I was wide awake!
We liked this area quite a bit, so we quickly searched for a campsite. We needed some electricity and I was also looking forward to a proper shower after two days of cycling. I can imagine that my travel companion was also looking forward to a shower from me ;-)
We quickly washed and hung up our laundry and headed to the nearby town of Lom with our bikes, known for its stave church and as one of the five national park villages, as it serves as a natural gateway to three national parks: Jostedalsbreen, Jotunheimen, and Breheimen Nasjonalpark.
The church is truly impressive and the cemetery around it is very beautiful. The gravestones are all standing on a lush green meadow and each stone is adorned with colorful flowers. The village itself is very touristy, Della felt like she was in the Black Forest, with dark wooden cabins everywhere, which is a traditional architectural style here. The village is located very idyllically on the mighty Lomseggen, although it stubbornly held onto the clouds during our visit.
