On the second day, the Golden Circle was on the program. Spontaneously and without a plan, we decided to visit and instinctively (once again) found the right way.
We started at Thingvellir National Park. This is a large park with the largest lake in Iceland, where a continental drift has created a large rift.
Afterwards, we continued to the famous Geysir. Unfortunately, the Geysir with the name Geysir did not erupt... However, his colleague Geysir Strokkur made the trip very worthwhile (erupting every few minutes).
Next, our journey took us to the powerful waterfall Gullfoss, which would not be our last waterfall in Iceland...
On our acquired sightseeing map, a greenhouse was also advertised. Yes, it was a crappy greenhouse.
After the wonderful greenhouse (...not), we continued to two very famous waterfalls. We were able to walk around one of the waterfalls (Seljalandsfoss) and the other one was hidden in a cave (Gljufrabui). Very impressive! Especially because the weather was nice.
On the way to the campsite, we also saw the volcano that erupted in 2010 and observed a moment of silence for all the stranded passengers at that time ;)
End of Day 2.
