Goodbye Sicily

We decide to leave Sicily again. The island hasn't really captivated us. There are indeed beautiful places and coasts here, but we have to be honest and say that the garbage and polluted landscape discourage us and we simply don't feel comfortable here. It may be clean and tidy if you stay in a hotel and spend your vacation on the hotel's own beach, but if you want to park freely with your camper, environmental pollution is omnipresent.

So we drive straight to Messina. The ferry to the Italian mainland runs several times a day here.

For our bus with two people, it costs 51 €. You don't need to book anything in advance. You can get the ticket directly at the port.

Drive onto the ferry, park and off we go. We don't even get out and half an hour later we are on the other side, in Villa San Giovanni.

Here we come, Calabria! ☀️
