After a very quiet night, we wake up to sunshine. The view of the fjord and the deserted beach is beautiful, and waking up with such a breathtaking view is truly unique. After reading a few pages, we make coffee and enjoy it in the sun. We also fry pancakes and start the day in peace. Because the weather is so nice again, we have chosen a hike to an old whale hunting station. So we drive to the starting point and besides another camper, the parking lot is empty. The path is beautiful, leading us over green hills where sheep graze, along a river, through pine forests that remind us of Denmark once again due to the sandy ground. We get pretty warm with the quite steep climbs, and as good as the hiking trails are most of the time, they are slippery and muddy here in some places. But once we reach the top of the mountain, the view of the bay and the meadows is so breathtaking that all efforts are forgotten.

We climb down the steep path towards the sea, cross a lush green meadow with grass up to our knees, and arrive at a lonely beach. We take a short break, have our picnic, and test the water temperature. Despite the warming sun, it is not tempting enough to go into the water.

The whale hunting station is in the next bay, and because the tide is already quite close, the rocks are too deep in the water to continue without getting wet feet. So we take off our shoes and socks and wade from bay to bay. Then we have to climb up again, and we arrive at the station. Alex is quite disappointed. Maybe I promised a little too much. Only the foundations of the buildings are still there, and apart from an old kettle, there are no tools or equipment that remind us of the gruesome business that was still taking place here until a few years ago. But a few photos still offer impressive insights.

After five minutes, we have seen everything and make our way back through the cool water, up the mountain, and towards the camper.

We drive to the next free camping spot, but we are not very impressed and just quickly fill up our water and drive to the next spot, which is not really far away. It's more like a rest area, but it's enough for one night. We make ourselves comfortable with dinner in the camper and fall asleep early after the strenuous hike.
