Hello, wonderful and diligent readers of my blog. Here are some impressions and experiences from my time here in Ireland, a bit delayed as usual.
Last weekend, we decided to see more of Dublin (thanks to the extra hour) and rented bikes from our trusted dealer to ride to the coast. I have never been so happy about a bike before. Schnucki (the sheep) also joined us after a long time. We were recommended to visit Blackrock, a small district of Dublin and it turned out to be the most beautiful part of Dublin we have seen so far. Many small streets, cute shops everywhere, flowers everywhere, and the most beautiful villas we have seen here. In short, a surprisingly beautiful upscale area. 😂
We went to a "pier" where we first walked down a path of stones and rocks to the sea. We took a short break there and relaxed. It was very nice.
Then we walked along the "pier" which reminded me of Lindau with its lighthouse at the end of the harbor, except for the Irish flag. That's how our day went. Actually, it wasn't very exciting, but if you ever find yourself in Dublin, I can definitely recommend a detour to Blackrock. Trust me. It's worth it.
On the way back to the bike dealer, we saw that there was a pride party in a whole street near Temple Bar. We dropped off our bikes and decided to go to the party after a short detour to the apartment. Alcohol was flowing and we had a lot of fun. By the way, I also got a number from an incredibly nice woman (because of a drinking game) and the evening ended with Hannah and me riding back to the apartment slightly drunk, while Celine slept at some strangers' place whom she had only known for 5 minutes. I was a bit worried about the little Murmel, but she came back safely the next day and had funny stories to tell.
My mood is swinging more and more between "I'm in love with Ireland" and "I really want to go home". I think it's easier to travel with someone who is really close to you than to be with people you didn't choose to be with. So what. 🤷🏼♀️
The next adventure has already begun and I'm very excited and looking forward to many new experiences.
Until then
