The last day on the mainland

Before heading to Chiloé Island, we spent another day in the Llanquihue Lake area. We hiked a short distance to a waterfall and found Sandra's favorite beer from Holland at the supermarket. Globalization is everywhere. And we drove up the volcano quite far, 18 km of gravel road. The ground on the right and left of the "road" was covered with moss or lichen. Underneath, as often done, lava. In the middle of nowhere, we were greeted with surprisingly good coffee, fresh mango juice, our neighbors from the hostel, and a very good English-speaking café owner. Hiking was not possible due to the abundance of horseflies. The creatures are a real nightmare.

At the German cemetery on Lake Llanquihue, all the graves are facing the lake, even in death, they all look at the lake that provided their livelihood.

After 5 days, we had to say goodbye to our amazing hostel, we will not forget it anytime soon. Especially the homemade bread for breakfast was a dream. And actually everything else ❤️👍.
