Tough day, not because of the kilometers or the altitude gain, but because of the wind blowing in our faces at almost 50 km/h. France really had strong headwinds for us today. Maybe it doesn't want us to leave or maybe it just wants to keep us here longer (we don't really care, we're here now anyway). But it seems like it's just the area, there are wind turbines, windsurfers, and kite surfers everywhere.
The route went between the sea and the lagoons, mostly on the 'Euro Velo 8' path. The last part was through vineyards, going inland.
Today we tried something new, staying at a B&B in a small French village. We were greeted warmly by two ladies, and they even gave us a beer as a welcome gesture. We had our first conversation using English and a translation app. I think we passed as harmless old men without any issues 😅.
Unfortunately, everything was closed in the village, so we got a pizza from the nearby area. Let's see where the road takes us tomorrow.

Update: The mystery of the expensive beer here has also been solved - the beer tax was increased by 160% in January. Well, France is indeed a wine country, I call it a government 'sales tax hike'. A half beer costs €7.00, while half a liter of wine costs €2.90. But since I like both drinks, I am against a wine tax increase back home 🍷🍺. Live and let live.
